Alessandra focuses on UK and European investments for Mouro, with a keen interest in some of the new verticals we are exploring around insurtech, future of work and education. She is close to our investments in Crosslend, Nivaura and Edgify, where she serves as our Board observer. An Italian and American national, Alessandra joined Mouro Capital from Samsung Ventures where she led deal sourcing in fintech and insurtech. Outside of Mouro, you can often find her at an East London park playing with her puppy.Linked in

Alvaro runs the finance and operations function at Mouro, overseeing long-term investment strategy, portfolio allocation, fund reporting and investor relations. He takes care of the operations of the fund and supports the investment team in execution of new investments and through the investment lifecycle. Alvaro joined Mouro from a long career at Banco Santander, where among others he managed projects in the Blockchain Lab. Outside of Mouro, Alvaro is a keen runner and enjoys gastronomy.Linked in

Álvaro Meliá NavarroChief Financial Officer
Carla oversees ‘all things’ legal for Mouro, whether in relation to our investments, our internal processes, or our relationship with our Limited Partner. She also makes sure we are always in compliance with our regulatory and contractual requirements. A qualified Spanish lawyer since 2014, Carla worked in the Corporate M&A area of Linklaters Madrid for five years prior to joining Mouro Capital. Carla Vega-PenichetLegal and Compliance
Chris is a specialist in all things technology and finance, and currently holds board responsibilities on behalf of Mouro at Upgrade, Blueprint and Trulioo. Prior to teaming up with Mouro, Chris was a Principal at Blumberg Capital for nearly 7 years investing across financial services and enterprise software. Before Blumberg, Chris was an investor with Menlo Ventures, after holding operating positions at early-stage, venture backed startups, advising technology companies as an analyst at Cowen and Company, and starting his career at Intel. Outside of Mouro, Chris enjoys traveling with his family.Linked in

Chris GottschalkGeneral Partner
Francesco leads market research at Mouro, where he is responsible for identifying innovation trends and working with the investment team on qualifying different investment opportunities. Prior to Mouro, Francesco worked in the Mobile Money team of the GSMA, where he supported telcos in identifying, testing and launching products and solutions for merchant payments, SMEs and e-commerce.Outside of Mouro, Francesco enjoys playing a game of chess or tennis and cooking.Linked in

- Ignacio supports Mouro Capital through all the investment phases, from researching new trends to finding partnerships opportunities across the portfolio. He believes in bringing innovation to the financial system while improving ESG performance. Prior to joining Mouro, Ignacio has worked in technology consulting and investments in Madrid, London and Dublin. Jillian has been close to our investments in Decent, as well as Blueprint and Upgrade, where she supports Mouro as a Board Observer. Prior to teaming up with Mouro Capital, she worked as an impact investor at Goldman Sachs and at the International Finance Corporation. Manuel oversees Mouro’s strategy, investor relations, resources and processes as our General Partner authorised by the FCA, with his day-to-day investment activity focusing more on UK, Europe and Latam. Manuel sits on the boards of a55, bonify and Crosslend and, as observer, of Autofi, Creditas, Curve, Elliptic, Klar, Roostify and Tradeshift among others. Manuel has been investing in fintech since 2010, having spent 5 years in San Francisco with BBVA Ventures (now Propel VC) before moving to London in 2015. He is a hiking enthusiast, world traveler and wine aficionado.Linked in

Rafael focuses on European and Latin American investments for Mouro, being close to our investments in a55, bonify, Creditas, MarketFinance, Personetics, Securitize and Klar. He also supports senior team members in investor relations with Santander. A Santander veteran, he started his career at Santander UK’s CEO office. Rafael is an avid runner, Valencia CF supporter, and occasional gamer.Linked in

Rafael Esteban CorreaPartner
Theo joined Mouro Capital in 2022 and focuses on UK and European investments. He was previously with Target Global, a European venture capital and growth fund, where he helped launch Target’s Berlin office and made a number of investments in fintech, insurtech and proptech companies. He started his career in investment banking, working for Macquarie and the Royal Bank of Canada in Sydney, before moving to London to complete his MBA. In his free time he enjoys travelling, football and long meals with friends and family.Linked in

Vaggelis supports our portfolio companies succeed in their engagement and collaboration with Santander (our LP), other portfolio companies and other key clients / partners in the fintech and financial services ecosystem. He brings c.20 years of experience in the field, as an investment banker (Credit Suisse), a corporate development & corporate venture specialist (HSBC) and a VC/PE investor (Fosun). Through these different capacities, he has developed a deep understanding of the growth challenges that fintech ventures face during their different growth stage. Outside of Mouro, you will probably see him in a London park playing football with his three young sons.Linked in
